Building High Performance teams

Program title: Inspiring the best in your teams
Recommended duration: Full day (or two half days)
Recommended delivery method:
Interactive workshop using collaborative games and innovative problem solving techniques to demonstrate the value of leveraging the diversity of capabilities, skills and behaviour in teams. Dialogue around how to engage stakeholders and team members around the purpose of the team’s tasks or projects and understand the boundaries of teams and their scope of activity and influence. Explore the influence of behavioural interaction on team roles and outcomes.

Leadership Capability Development

Program title: Why would anyone follow your lead?
Recommended duration: Full day (or two half days)
Recommended delivery method:
Interactive workshop that highlights the difference between being in a senior position and leading people. Explore a range of leadership capabilities and styles through open dialogue and comparison of the relative strengths and weaknesses of each. Delves into the behavioural aspects of leadership and how strategy can be put into action to deliver the desired performance outcomes for the individual participants and the organisation.

Collaboration and Relationship Development

Program title: You can’t MAKE people like you or work FOR you
Recommended duration: Full day (or two half days)
Recommended delivery method:
Interactive workshop using a range of innovative techniques the develop understanding of what motivates people to collaborate and share knowledge. A combination of facilitated dialogue and games are used to engage participants around learning concepts they can then apply into their own workplaces to draw people into collaborative initiatives.

Coaching and Mentoring

Program title: Mentoring and coaching for individual and organisational performance
Recommended duration:

  • Option 1: series of six 90 minute sessions (optimal outcomes)
  • Option 2: two half day sessions
  • Can be performed in small group sessions as peer mentoring

Recommended delivery method:
Facilitated dialogue and conversations with the participant(s) using a combination of mentoring (strategic conversations around wider topics nominated by the participant) and coaching (skills based to enhance performance in specific tasks). Individual or small group conversations explore concepts to develop options and thinking capabilities of the participants over time.

Leadership and management coaching

Program title: Leading your organisation to future success
Recommended duration:

  • Option 1: series of six 90 minute sessions (optimal outcomes)
  • Option 2: two half day sessions
  • Can be performed for individuals or in small groups

Recommended delivery method:
Facilitated conversations with the participant(s) on strategic topics of direct interest to the participants to deconstruct the situation and generate options for success. A combination of advocacy and inquiry is used in cycles of dialogue to refine and prioritise action and plans for direct application in the participants’ workplace and on their projects. Focus is on developing the leadership capabilities most useful within their immediate context and for their future development.

Behavioural Workshops

A variety of customised interactive workshops have been delivered for organisations to engage their teams around themes and topics specific to their development requirements. These workshops can be embedded into the client’s development program or can be facilitated as a specific aligned, but independent event. Workshops can cater for small teams up to 100 people with a high degree of interaction. Mixed themes can also be combined in a series of workshops to comprise a whole development program over a longer period (months or years). A range of methods are used in these workshops including Arthur’s Organizational Zoo and interactive technology such as wiki’s and blogs.

Project Management

Program title: Achieving desired outcomes through projects
Recommended duration: Full day (or two half days)
Recommended delivery method:
Interactive workshop using a project management brief format to document a project the participants need to complete for their business to provide direct relevance and usable outputs for the course. Participants will generate a document covering purpose, benefits, performance indicators and stakeholder analysis for their project through a series of dialogues with a partner in the first half day.
In the second half day a series of constructive challenges are applied as they pitch their project and plan to their target audience through a role play.

Performance Management for Development

Program title: Performance mediated development
Recommended duration: Full day (or two half days)
Recommended delivery method:
Interactive workshop exploring the meaning and importance of performance and how it can be measured and managed. In part one, tangible and intangible measures are reviewed to understand the link between cause and effect and complex issues are discussed to determine how the approach is such contexts differ from logical problem resolution. Part 2 builds on these learning through a role play is done to experience conducting a performance review and the best approach when confronted with a challenging personality or complex issue.

Communication

Program title: Writing for influence
Recommended duration: Full day (or two half days)
Recommended delivery method:
Interactive workshop assessing variety of written works from business and other sources to understand style of writing and how it impacts difference audiences. First half day discusses structure and style and second half day active writing for a piece required for the participants own workplace. A challenge session is performed of the writing to solicit constructive feedback on impact of the writing for the target audience.

Program title: Presenting for influence
Recommended duration: Full day (or two half days)
Recommended delivery method:
Interactive workshop assessing variety of presented works from business and other sources to understand variety of presentation styles and the context in which they can be effective for different audiences. First half day discusses structure and style and second half day active presenting a project or idea participants want to practice to rehearse for their own workplace. A challenge session is performed on the presentation with constructive feedback being discussed for the benefit of all.

The best courses are not “preconceived”. The development requirements of your group are assessed and a customized program developed around these to create interactions to achieve the desired outcomes. This can be discussed with you before and an assessment of success be performed afterwards and a written report provided based on feedback from your participants.
